About the upcoming concert

The Victoria Guitar society, in partnership with the University of Victoria School of Music, present the final concert of the 2023 season - Virtuosa! - featuring international competition winner Bokyung Byun.

 

Ms Byun has received accolades around the world for her inspired playing, musicianship and communicative abilities. The American Record Guide noted “Byun’s interpretation enlivens them with creative phrasings, articulations, spacing, and dynamics, which take the listener beyond most performances I have heard.”

and Classical Guitar Magazine wrote of her “confident and quite extraordinary”.

 

This final season concert is a UVic Donor Appreciation Concert and presentation of the Olynyk Guitar Prize. A not-to-be-missed event culminating the the VGS season of exciting performances!
